Dow finishes up over 200 points as investors bet on economic reopening

Stocks ended mostly higher Monday, boosted as investors renewed bets on an economic reopening, leaving cyclically sensitive sectors to outperform pandemic winners, including tech-related stocks. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.70% fell around 239 points, or 0.7%, to close near 34,114, according to preliminary figures. The S&P 500 SPX, +0.27% advanced around 12 points, or 0.3%, to finish near 4,193. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite COMP, -0.48%, however, ended with a loss of around 68 points, or 0.5%, near 13,895.
